2. Fish Oil – Omega 3 – Cod Liver Oil – http://amzn.to/1O9DqS0
This is Billy’s favorite source of fish oil. It is one of the best sources of omega 3 fatty acids including EPA and DHA and has high amounts of naturally occurring vitamin A & D3. Billy prefers this cod liver oil over Krill oil, Salmon and fish oil because it has more EPA and DHA (omega 3’s in each) and is taken from the liver, where the nutrients are unlike the others and is a small fish, so less mercury and other contamination from food chain accumulation. Amongst the many benefits it helps with arthritis, heart disease, cognitive performance, brain and organ health, helps to rematerialize teeth and bones, helps against inflammation, and more. Also, almost everyone is also deficient in vitamin A (which IS NOT beta carotene) due to their not consuming adequate liver from organic animals (poultry or fish) on a weekly basis.
As a meat eater, if you don’t want to take supplements, grass fed beef, eggs from grass-fed organic hens, Wild Alaskan Salmon and wild caught Sardines preferably in water are all great sources of EPA DHA from Omega 3’s.
Regarding Vegans and Omega 3’s – Processed foods, rancid vegetable oils, pastries and more of the standard American diet (S.A.D.) are the major source of omega 6’s in most people’s diet; creating a dangerous imbalance with Omega 3’s. For Omega 3’s, with a better ratio of EPA:DHA, than walnuts for example, it is suggested that Vegans consume blue green algae (http://tinyurl.com/jj8verd) and fermented foods (https://youtu.be/LtAL4Xr8JPA), since they are the only source of plant foods that don’t need to be converted to EPA DHA. Additional good sources are chia seeds, cauliflower, and hemp all of which, are great for meat eaters as well, but need to be converted from ALA to give us what we need, meaning we only get about 10% of the EPA DHA available.
