Power of Personality Types in Love and Relationships

personality types

The Power of Personality Types in Love and Relationship,” shows which personality type you are in a relationship, and what you require from a partner for contentment.

The book also offers a way to “find yourself.” That is identifying your nature versus your neurosis. When we are at our worst in anger, frustration, discontent, fear or any long-term negative emotion, we are not “ourselves,” and are aware we are not accomplishing all we were meant to. These feelings are often a way our spirit is telling us it is time for a change. The change often requires getting back to the path of a more purpose driven existence. The Book discusses how to find that aspect of ourselves.

The Importance of Knowing your Personality Type in a Relationship

Knowing your type, allows the understanding of what you offer to a relationship as well as what you should look for from others. Both partners can then complement one another, rather than compete. Knowing your type will also show you why you become anxious, and when you are not acting within your nature and why.

For example, an “Emotional Prison” is a place of strong negative emotion where your ego is preventing you from asking for what you want. It’s a place that breaks all connection with your partner and prevents your happiness. It’s the places a person goes to, mentally, when they feel they don’t matter, that they are unloved, become jealous, or accuse others of things that are really their own issue and not their partner’s.

Emotional Prisons can be triggered in an instant, but if you know what yours is, you can also get out of it in an instant. Knowing your type will show you what you require and what you do to prevent your own happiness.

Any therapist will tell you the fastest way to improve your relationship is by improving yourself. Knowing your type will allow you to do this.

How knowing your personality type will allow you to find contentment:

  1. Knowing your nature versus your neurosis, and the difference between them. When you are in your neurosis often it is because you are spending time outside of your natural type based on fear, self-protection, insecurity, or ego.
  2. The ability to express your nature. You want to surround yourself with people that allow this, and also inspire it. Dismantle your fears and insecurities and allow yourself the confidence to express who you are naturally.
  3. Finding people whose nature complements yours, rather then competes with yours. Be mindful to look for a person who naturally receives what is natural for you to provide and vice versa.
  4. The ability to receive the nature of people who complements yours. It takes a certain confidence and trust to allow others to support or take care of you.

If a relationship lacks substance it is often because the partners are not connecting on a level of complementing personality types. Knowing and understanding these types will allow you to do what is required to find harmony even between competing types.

Summary: “The Power of Personality Types”

People often make the mistake of thinking opposites attract. Opposites never attract, that would be like a criminal hooking up with a nun. However, opposing personality types often attract; this is when one partner says “black” the other says “white.” This book shows what is required to keep these opposing forces also complementary.

Learn how to know if a partner is complementary to your character and how to remain connected without conflict to people who are not. Understanding these types enables you to discover what went wrong in past relationships, a way to find harmony in current strained relationships, and a formula for finding more compatible partners moving forward.

Jalaluddin Rumi said, “Not to seek for love, but to seek all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.” A basic understanding of these types allows you to overcome self-imposed barriers preventing the flow of abundance in your life and relationships.
