Considered even more powerful than their herb counterparts, I love using Ess ential Oils that are therapeutic grade and non-diluted see links below.
These Oils can be used in many ways to overcome and prevent Seasonal Threats:
- Consumption – They can be used internally (I recommend only edible therapeutic grade)
- Topically – and absorbed through your skin especially on meridian points (therapeutic grade recommended)
- Air Diffuser – They can be used to diffuse and purify stale air. This also has been shown to reduce stress, which is also key for your immunity
- Cleaner – Ess ential oils can be used as a non-toxic cleaner to stop the spread of germs.
Note – I would only use the highest quality therapeutic grade oils with supplement facts on the bottle. Link below for where to find these.
Here are my Favorite Oils for all types of Seasonal Threats
- Peppermint Oil – Great for all digestive disturbances and more. It can be used as a tea (couple drops put into warm water or rubbed on the skin). Kids usually love the taste (to put a couple of drops in water) (I also use to make toothpaste and deodorant)
- Oregano oil is a potent and strong for specific seasonal threats. I diffuse this as needed or use a tiny amount (diluted) with coconut or olive oil on the bottom of the feet.
- Thyme Oil– A tea, not great taste, but very effective. Thyme oil is best rubbed on the skin. Put a couple drops in warm water to drink. Or make a thyme steam bath: Put a few drops of thyme oil into a bowl of hot water and lean over the bowl, covering both your head and the bowl with a towel. Inhaling the steam will help. Pregnant women and small children should not use thyme.
Email info@theartofunity.com for more oils and which one’s I like for specific issues. One I use in particular that is available is a combination of Wild Orange, Clove, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus, and Rosemary EO’s. I like it as a preventative as well as a way to get over being sick and strengthen my immunity.
Ess ential oils Combo I like to fight any seasonal threat:
• 3 drops Oregano Oil
• 2 drops Frankincense Oil
• 2 drops of an Oil blend I can email you
• 1 drop melaleuca
• 1 drop Peppermint Oil
• 10 Empty gel capsules
If I start to feel run down as if I’m about to get a season threat I take this recipe. Add your drops to one side of an empty gel capsule and closing it with the other side.
I take 1 capsule morning and night for 5 days for a total of 10 pills. You can order this online here for around $4.00 for a big bottle of 160 capsules. You have to make each pill fresh just before you take it or your oils will dissolve through the capsule. Note: this recipe is for adults. For kids aged 12-16 I would cut this in half.

Ways to Use the Oils:
On your feet – During winter season, when everyone else is getting seasonal threats, or in preparation for a trip I put a couple of drops of an oil blend I can email you on the bottoms of my feet, usually in the center but you can use the chart on the left to be more specific. Done in the morning and at night, and drink a couple drops in a glass of water as well.
Oil Pull – The minute I feel my throat bothering me as if I am about to catch something I oil pull with 2 drops of the blend in the morning as well. Learn how to oil pull here.
Under tongue – A great way to boost immunity during winter months is to put one drop of Melissa and 1 drop of the blend under the tongue each morning.
In water – It is a good idea to put about 1 drop of lemon and 1 drop of lime EO for every 10-12 oz of water you and your family drink. Over time this will greatly strengthen the immune system. (Don’t put in plastic container because these citrus oils will eat away at the plastic)
Diffuse – (click photo for link) Another great method is to diffuse EO’s into the air. Click the photo for link to diffuser I like. Just fill it with pure water and 3 or 4 drops of the oil you like. I have had success with lavender, melaleuca (tea-tree) as well as a blend of oils. Turn it on and go about your business, sleep, or watch TV. Sometimes I mix them as well using a drop of each. It was developed to boost our immune systems, and guard us against pathogens. Teachers or business owners can also use them to disinfect at work.
Take a Soothing bath with a few drops of EO’s – This is a great way to relax an aching body. My favorites to add are Lavender, Lemon and Orange.
On the back for children – For kids aged 6-11, I prefer to take a little bit of carrier oil, like coconut oil or olive oil and mix it with the oils mentioned above to rub on the child’s back or bottoms of feet. I would use 1/2 tsp. of oil and just one drop of each of those oils I mentioned above, mix it first, then spread over those areas on the child.
Homemade Recipe for Babies
You have to choose essen tial oils that are safe for babies to use. This little bit of salve is gentle, smells great and can work to support.
Ingredients:
- 3 teaspoons beeswax
- 3 teaspoons cocoa butter
- 9 teaspoons fractionated coconut oil or olive oil
- 10 drops Lavender oil
- 5 drops Frankincense
- 5 drops Melaleuca (Tea Tree) oil
Directions: Melt beeswax and cocoa butter in a double boiler or in the microwave until melted. Stir in fractionated (liquid) coconut oil and E oils right away. Pour into container of choice (a little glass jar works great) and allow to cool. Use salve on bottoms of baby feet, rub on back or chest twice a day.
The Only company I use has requested that I don’t post their link directly in my blog due to FCC regulations. Email info@theartofunity.com for links and info.
